Monticello Summer Mini-Camps in the Parks
Explore Monticello’s Parks this summer! Mini-camps will be offered throughout the summer for 3-hour time periods for two age groups: 9am-Noon for ages 5-8 or 1pm-4pm for ages 9-12. Parent/guardian volunteers are welcome and appreciated. Campers should show up on time each day with a water bottle and sunscreen. Any extra items necessary for the mini-camps are noted in their description. Mini-camps will be run by MCC staff.
Cost per camper per camp: MCC Members: $30, Regular: $35
June 12-15 – Pioneer Park
Extreme Sandbox Trucking – Combining creativity, engineering and building skills to make awesome sandbox creations for kids to play trucks. Campers bring their own trucks to play in the big sandbox at Pioneer Park. Each day we will focus on building roads and structures for our trucks, as well as free play truck time, playground time and a snack break.
June 19-22 – West Bridge Park
Crazy Crafts – Bright colors, lots of paint and a variety of techniques will bring out your child’s artistic and creative side. We will spend the week make crafty creations through splatter painting, tie dying, marble painting, etc.
July 10-13 – Groveland Park
Pedal to the Parks – Each day we will begin at one Monticello park and travel to another Monticello park. Campers will spend the week traveling the trails and roads of Monticello in a safe and sociable way. There will be plenty of biking, learning about bike safety, socializing and, of course, playing at the parks! Don’t forget your bike, bike helmet, water, snack and sunscreen!
July 17-20 – East Bridge/Ellison/West Bridge/Groveland
Sprayground Playground – Campers will beat the heat this summer by water sliding, running through sprinklers, splash padding and playing with super soakers and water balloons! Each day will showcase a different Monticello park where we’ve setup up fun water activities for campers.
July 24-27 – West Bridge
Fishing Camp – Campers will learn fishing fundamentals while fishing at a couple of great parks in Monticello. Kids bring their own fishing poles and will be taught how to setup their pole, bait the hook and take their fish off. There will also be breaks for snack and playground time!
Wiggle Giggle Gym
Wednesdays, 10:00am-12:00pm (ENDS MAY 17)
Open gym time for preschoolers and their parents! Use the parachute, balls, floor hockey equipment, scooters and other fun gym toys. Daily pass rates apply to non-members. Free to MCC Members.
Kid Lifting Certification
Monday, May 1, 6:45pm-8:15pm
For individuals ages 12 to 15. Learn to use the strength equipment and weight room etiquette. After completing the course, participants gain unsupervised access to the MCC Fitness Center. COST: Regular: $12, MCC Members: $6 Pre-registration required.
